We’re not going to tell you how important sleep is – you already know that, but it’s something nearly all of us are struggling to get enough of.
Primary research survey results collected by The Naked Collective suggests that, 49.4% of Irish respondents have said their sleep has been more disturbed as a result of COVID-19, and a whopping 56.8% of UK respondents agreed.
But worry not. Mude Sleep is here, with a dreamy blend of Chamomile and Valerian Root to help you unwind and give your dreams the deep sleep they deserve. Want the low down on Chamomile?
Well, for one, these white daisy-like flowers may just be our best pals when we are in need of some TLC and two, we have to admit we aren’t the first to use Chamomile to put us on Cloud 9. In fact, Chamomile has been used as a sleep aid for centuries, dating back to ancient Egypt. And it looks like it’s going nowhere.
So, why chamomile?...
Unique properties to benefit the quality of your sleep
Chamomile is widely regarded as a mild tranquillizer and sleep inducer. This is because Chamomile contains an antioxidant from a plant extract named apigenin. Apigenin binds to certain receptors in your brain that can promote a sense of sleep and aid in reducing insomnia through its sedative and relaxing effect.
In one particular study, it was found that people who consumed 270 mg of Chamomile extract twice daily for 28 days had one third less night-time awakening and fell asleep 15 minutes faster than those who didn’t consume this extract.
Let’s put it this way, Mude Sleep has 500mg of Chamomile. Dreamy. Sipped 15 minutes before you want to sleep, it will not only help you nod off quicker, but will promote a good night’s rest, naturally.
Relieves stress and anxiety
In a 2009 study, Chamomile was found to reduce stress and anxiety. It has been said it can also have a soothing and calming effect on the nervous system too. Chamomile is also found in our Mude Chill for you to take control of your zen, just sit back, sip and unwind.
This herbal hero increases serotonin and melatonin levels in the body, two hormones linked to alleviating feelings of stress. What has this got to do with sleep?
Well. When we experience worry and fear, this can make it hard for us to fall and stay asleep. When we are deprived of sleep, this can worse feelings of anxiety and spur a negative sleep cycle. Sleep is the long-term relationship you NEVER want to break up with, this we know for certain.
Last but not least, sleep hygiene is key!
